The soups were disappointing but the meats, rice, and potatoes were all very solid. The hummus and house salad were also good. The portions were huge and the service was very friendly albeit a bit slow.

We had a nice meal here with old friends from Detroit. We all regretted the lack of alcoholic beverages but the mixed smoothie (called Sweet Breeze) was refreshing and delicious. We enjoyed hot pitas that came to the table with toum, a garlic spread, that we got a second round and I resolved to learn to make it myself (hopefully for the dinner party we are hosting next week). Hummus for the table was fine, but the biggest hit among the appetizers was tomato kibbee. Most of three of our party had the lamb shish kebab, and that meat was well flavored, but I had the salmon instead which came just cooked enough and flavorful. The rice that came with these mains was nicely done. Our friend Barbara has tabouleh as her main dish but by the time it arrived (looking oh so fresh and tasty) she was full. We had take-away containers for all of us, leaving well satisfied with our meal.

Got the sampler after for 2, it was enough food to feed four hungry people, the staff is friendly and food is amazing! I flew it home to Atlanta from Dearborn in my carry on.

Went here with a group, and everyone was happy when we left. The service was exceptional: I was quickly united with my group, we were frequently checked on , and food came quickly. All the orders were fabulous: lamb chops were cooked as ordered, pita was served warm, salads crispy, kabobs perfectly seasoned. Even the rice was memorable. I was told this was the best Mediterranean restaurant in Dearborn -- and that is saying something-- and I could not agree more with that sentiment! Top per thins off with perfect sweets at the end....

La Shish proved to be a solid lunch option during a recent trip to Dearborn. My husband and I were in the area to run some errands and wanted to grab some delicious Middle Eastern food. The place he first recommended wasn't yet open for lunch (it was before noon), and he had heard from a coworker that La Shish was solid, so we headed on over around 11:30. We were promptly greeted upon walking in by a friendly server, and shown to our pick of tables, handing us menus before he went to grab our drinks. It was hard to decide exactly what I wanted - everything looked delicious! I finally decided on something lighter in a grape leaf wrap and a bowl of the crushed lentil soup, which I told the server when he arrived back with our drinks - Coke for my husband and a Diet for me. He also brought us a basket of the freshest, hottest pita breads, along with a tasty garlic spread. The soup came out first, and the bowl was a generous size. Flavors and consistency were just right, and I found myself finishing every last drop. My grape leaf wrap was very good - I didn't finish it all, mostly because I had really overdone it on the fresh pita bread. But I was able to take the leftovers home and enjoy it a bit later. When the craving for Middle Eastern food hits you in the Dearborn area, I can now second the recommendation for La Shish as a solid choice.
